okay, so here’s the thing. i’ve got a student prime account and netflix. comes to about $15.91 a month. if i added the commercial-free version of hulu, it would come to $27.90 a month.
basic cable before internet is $64.99 a month. which includes commercials. and infomercials. about a quarter of all television is commercials. which is about $16.25 a month to have someone selling shit to you.

Even IF cable wasn’t stupidly expensive for something so basic as like thirty channels, people are still completely restricted to what is playing at any given time. Sure, I can surf between each of those channels, but if what I want to watch is not on, what am I going to do? Instead, I can know what I want to watch, turn on my computer, and in five minutes be watching the first of an entire series. I can pause whenever I want, and I can be doing other things on the same device. Fuck cable
