I’ve seen lots of Gatekeeping™ lately so have some friendly reminders!!

You don’t need to know EVERYTHING about your interest to be a “real fan”!!!

💮 You don’t need to know all the songs to appreciate a band/artist to be a real fan.

💮 You don’t need to remember every detail about a story/show to be a real fan.

💮 You don’t need to know all the actors and actresses that worked in a movie/series to be a real fan.

💮 You don’t need to have perfect scores or know everything about a videogame to be a real fan.

💮 You don’t need to know about a character’s entire backstory to be a real fan.

💮 You don’t have to know everything that happens in a YouTuber’s personal life to be a real fan.

💮 You don’t need to accept everyone’s headcanons to be a real fan.

💮 Your age doesn’t determine what songs you can and can’t listen to.

💮 Your gender doesn’t define which character you should relate to or enjoy.

💮 Your sexuality doesn’t make your love for your interests any less valid.

💮 You don’t need to do anything to prove you’re a real fan.

If something interests you and it doesn’t harm anyone, if you show your love for that, you’re a real fan.

You’re supposed to like things that make you happy. Liking things isn’t supposed to be stressful.

Everyone should feel safe and welcome in a community, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender, race or age, as long as they’re not harming anyone. Make your friends feel welcome and quit this bullshit already.

The people who created all of the things you loved would want you to enjoy it and respect others, not make someone feel scared to be themselves around the community.

Time for some kitchen charts to help you adult better 😉

Cause I know a lot of my followers get stuck on some of these.

Reblogging because charts like these are always useful, especially when trying to convert between US Cups (volume measure) and oz / gr (weight measure).

Not having grown up with them, cups have always seemed an inaccurate way to measure anything coarse: liquids, flour, sugar, no probs, but surely 1 cup of (say) whole almonds is going to be a smaller amount than 1 cup of ground almonds, because of the air spaces.

And then there’s the “pint’s a pound the world around” business… Imperial pints are bigger, 20 fl.oz rather than 16.

@dduane has a set of US Cups, and just for fun we also got a set of these amusing spoons. What I really want are measures for Some, A Bit and most important, Far Too Much.

Um, cilantro and coriander are the same thing? Why do they have two different rows for the same thing in the spice/herb table?

When it’s “cilantro” they’re usually talking about the leafy part of the plant, and when it’s “coriander” they mean the seeds.

*sigh* To celebrate the release of Disney’s Wreck it Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet, Aquafresh is teaming up with Disney to make Wreck-It Ralph inspired toothpaste, flavored just like Ralph’s favorite food, Bricks!

Let’s ask a better question: why bricks of all things?

Ralph’s favorite food, Bricks!

obligatory reminder that it’s two thousand fucking eighteen and we’re not going through this goddamn discourse again, so: kris is canonically non-binary and no their clothing, body language, or choice in shampoo does not prove at all that they’re actually a boy

for god’s sake
