Anyway, the latest thing that I’m infuriated about is that a type of breast implant that is commonly used is linked to breast cancer, the type of cancer is difficult to detect with mammogram, and the manufacturer won’t pull it off of the shelves and literally wrote “if you catch it early it’s very treatable, a small number (more than 400 in the US alone) of 5 million women (but 5 million women didn’t get this specific type of textured breast implant) have developed breast cancer from this implant”– probably knowing full well that a good portion of the market for breast implants are women who spend their last dime to get them (like for gender confirmation) and very well can’t go to the doctor to treat it. And no one studiously tracks this type of implant so who knows how dangerous these implants actually are. Who cares what happens to women as long as their breasts look great.
