this is the supervillain origin story i’ve always dreamed of

this is one the of most tumblr things I’ve ever read in my life

@birdthany please give us more details

I was super obsessed with Glee and my special interest attention to detail and intolerance for bullshit made me a really good moderator, and the wiki was really a community as well as a database. People talked in the comments all the time as well as in the live chat, so it was the place I first made friends online. After maybe a year and a half on the site, I was I think the third most active mod, but this person with the username DocMD still outranked me. DocMD claimed to be a doctor named Jen who was occupied with the Glee Wiki while pregnant and maternity leave. She also claimed to be unable to walk due to a foot injury, and had devastating personal tragedies which required everyone pay lots of attention to her at least monthly. Obviously there were secret, private discussions over whether she was legit, but nobody had the balls to stand up to her.

Then a new character for season 3 was announced, Sugar, played by Vanessa Lengies, and there were lots of rumors about her role on the show. People in the chat were discussing who in the existing cast she would have chemistry with. I mentioned that I thought she would look good with Santana, the show’s only lesbian. Instantly another user (who was a gay -13yo boy) told me he didn’t think that was likely, since Sugar supposedly had an upcoming romantic storyline with Finn. DocMD agreed. I said that a) such a thing was still rumor, b) she could be bi, and c) Santana herself had slept with Finn before realizing she was gay. DocMD said that because most people are straight, Sugar should be assumed straight until proven otherwise. I said that was homophobic, and no assumptions should be made. Then I was told I had been rude to Doc and the boy who’d initially disagreed with me. I maintained that I was right. I was told by Doc that I was refusing to accept the straight majority as reality, and was being heterophobic. I was stripped of my mod privileges (though told I could reapply and likely be given them back after three weeks) and given a short-term ban. Some of my friends on the Wiki, those who agreed with my assessment that the show mostly sucked, had recently made Tumblr accounts and had been trying to convince me to join them, so I did, and only checked in on the Wiki once in awhile even after the three weeks were up.

While I was gone, DocMD claimed that she was in a car accident and that one of her friends committed suicide. As such, no one was to mention car crashes or suicide around her- even though both a suicide attempt and a car crash were plot points in Glee S3. She began banning users for leaving relevant comments on the pages of the involved characters or discussing the recent episodes in chat. I was messaged on Tumblr and told to return to the wiki, because the rest of the mods were staging a mutiny against DocMD. I lent my vocal support for the mutiny, and DocMD left the wiki in disgrace. Still, my heart had moved on, and I used the wiki less and less and Tumblr more and more. The end.

ok now this is the most tumblr thing I’ve ever read

Another one for the fanlore archives of human awfulness
